SPB or SP Balasubrahmanyam, winner of Padma Shri, and Padma Bhushan, is an Indian music director, singer, playback singer film producer, dubbing artista and an actor, who works in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi.

Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam commonly known as , S. P. B. or SP Balasubrahmanyam is an Indian music director, singer, playback singer film producer, dubbing artista and an actor, who works in Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu and Hindi. He holds the guinness record for recording a highest number of songs by a singer over 40,000 songs in 16 Indian languages. SPB also won six National Film Awards for Best Male Playback Singer, 25 Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards for his contribution in Telugu cinema.

He received numerous state awards from Tamilnadu and Karnataka. He also received six Filmfare Awards South and the Bollywood Filmfare Award. For his contribution to Indian cenima, he received the state NTR National Award, He was honored with the Indian Film Personality of the Year consisting of a Silver Peacock Medal. He also honoured with civilian awards such as Padma Shri (2001) and Padma Bhushan (2011) from the Government of India.

The Indian Legendary Musician SP Balasubrahmanyam dies at 74 in Chennai on 2020 September 25. He was in hospital for nearly two months after being diagnosed with Covid-19 in August.He tested negative on September 13.
